Management Team

Christopher Spinella is a Co-Founder and CEO. Chris has more than 26 years of management experience in the health care and technology industries. Chris co-founded Smart Technologies, Inc. in 1996 and in 1999 merged this company into Apriva in order to continue the development and advancement of smart card technology and wireless applications. Chris was also a Co-Founder of NetSearch, LLC, a wireless application company that was acquired by Aether Systems in April 2000 and was the Chairman and Co-Founder of Zanova, Inc., a B2B e-commerce company that was acquired by Onvia in July 2000. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Arizona State University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

 

Mike Klingen is a Co-Founder and Chief Architect. Mike is responsible for reviewing and improving existing systems by making use of new technologies and methodologies. Mike has more than 24 years experience in developing sophisticated software solutions. In 1990, Mike co-founded APPS Software and applied his expertise in the design and development of software applications in more than 30 difference industry sectors including e-commerce, wireless communications, encryption/security and voice-over-internet. Mike was a Co-Founder of NetSearch, LLC, a wireless application company that was acquired by Aether Systems in April 2000. Mike was also a Co-Founder of Zanova, Inc., a B2B e-commerce company that was acquired by Onvia in July 2000. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Arizona State University.

 

Jeff Ford is President for Apriva ISS.
Jeff is responsible for the strategic and operational management for Apriva's Information Security Solutions (ISS) division. Jeff Ford is a recognized industry leader and speaker in the business communications industry with more than 24 years of experience in voice, video and data communications systems and applications. Prior to joining Apriva, Jeff served as president of Inter-Tel’s global wholesale division where he played a pivotal role in the company’s early entry into VoIP in the late 1990s and obtained an early voice-over-IP technology patent. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Arizona State University and a Stanford Executive certificate from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
 

David Riddiford is Chief Financial Officer. David is a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years of comprehensive experience in finance, accounting and business at publicly traded corporations. Prior to joining Apriva, David served as Chief Financial Officer for Action Performance Companies, a public company with $350 million in sales. David also served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer at the Dial Corporation, a public company with $1.3 billion in sales. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Accounting from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.

 

Lisa Terminiello serves as General Counsel for Apriva. Lisa provides legal support and advice for the company's executive management team and board of directors with an array of business, legal and regulatory issues. Prior to Apriva, Lisa served as General Counsel for Bone Care International, Inc. Lisa earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.

 

Randy Best is Chief Technology Officer for Apriva ISS. Randy is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of the information and technology program for the company. Randy has more than 34 years experience managing successful software development projects and has senior business management experience in both large corporate environments and start-up companies. Prior to joining Apriva, Randy worked for Motorola Government Electronics (now General Dynamics), Sorrento Investment LLC, and Object Technology International, Inc. where he successfully grew the U.S. Operations up to an acquisition by IBM in February 1996. Randy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Arizona State University.

 

Rinaldo Spinella is Vice President of Hardware Engineering for Apriva ISS. Rinaldo oversees the development and implementation of Apriva’s wireless hardware technology and focuses on embedded microprocessor systems for both hardware and software products. Rinaldo has more than 32 years of experience in the development of hardware and software products and services in the technology industry. Rinaldo was also a co-founder of Smart Technologies, Inc. which later merged with Apriva. Rinaldo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Master of Science Degree in Management from MIT’s Sloan School.

 

Jim Morris is Vice President of Engineering for Apriva ISS. Jim leads the engineering department and oversees product development efforts. Jim has 18 years experience in engineering management and senior software engineering. Prior to joining Apriva, Jim held several executive positions at Hypercom including VP of Network Solutions where he was responsible for strategic planning and daily management of next-generation product development efforts and the Network Solutions product engineering department. Jim studied Physics at North Carolina State University and served in the U.S. Army.

 

Robert Martin is Vice President of Operations for Apriva ISS. Robert is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ISS division, including product, manufacturing, quality assurance and customer support. Robert has 15 years experience in management, software development, quality assurance and production software product support. Robert previously held the position of Vice President of Global Terminal Software at Hypercom and was responsible for all software development on Hypercom’s terminal products. Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science Degree and Ph.D. in Physics from The College of William and Mary and an MBA from W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University.

 

Richard Spinella is Vice President of Government Solutions for Apriva ISS. Richard leads the development of Apriva’s hardware products, reseller channels and new business opportunities within the government sector. Richard has more than 23 years of business development experience in the technology industry. Prior to Apriva, Richard served as VP of Business Development at iTOOL and VP of Government Sales at Smith and Wesson Advanced Technologies, a subsidiary of Smith & Wesson Corporation. Additionally, Richard worked for 10 years at IBM as an Account Manager with a focus on the State & Local and Federal Government sector. Richard holds his Bachelor of Science Degree from Arizona State University.

 

Scott Rover is Director of Government Sales for Apriva ISS. Scott is responsible for direct sales and distribution channel management of Sensa and the Common Access Card (Smart Card) reader offerings. Scott has 20 years experience in sales and marketing including channel distribution, customer deployment and as a solution provider. During his career, Scott has concentrated specifically in mobile and wireless messaging and sales management within the public sector. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Erskine College in South Carolina.
