Strong Encryption and Authentication
Apriva’s Mobile Environment Security Architecture (MESA) Virtual Private Network (VPN) security architecture is used by government agencies and commercial enterprises seeking secure mobile connections over cellular, Wi-Fi, or multiprotocol label switching (MPLS). The MESA VPN forms the foundation of the MESA family of products designed to provide those who require highly secure, standards-based security for both classified and unclassified implementations. Apriva’s MESA Gateway combines the security of the MESA-VPN with the command-and-control features of the MESA Command and Control Suite (CCS). MESA VPN differentiates itself from competitors by implementing standards-based protocols without the use of proprietary implementations or policy and licensing files. As a result, the MESA VPN is compatible out of the box with a wide variety of IPsec clients. A few of these include Strong Swan-based clients, Microsoft Win 10 Client, Samsung Clients, Apple Clients, and Mocana Kies.
Government Security Pedigree
Apriva’s MESA VPN is a standards-based Secure VPN concentrator with no proprietary modes of operation, and supporting most native VPN clients in Microsoft, Android, and Apple iOS operating systems. The MESA VPN supports full IKEv2 and MOBIKE standards, and Apriva’s entropy and random number generation uses optical physics to generate strong encryption that exceeds the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication SP800-90A Recommendations for Random Number Generation. Government organizations and commercial entities trust Apriva to deliver:
- Technology compliant with the Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8100.2
- Use of strong Federal Information Processing Standard Publication (FIPS PUB) 140-2 cryptography
- Full DoD public key infrastructure (PKI) enablement
- Supports Suite B Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) GCM and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128/256; RSA; IKEv2 CBC 128, ECDSA 256/384, SHA 256/384; and user-defined modes
- Apriva’s MESA VPN can also be used for tunnel nesting and remote access to support NSA’s Site-to-Site Capabilities Package.
